No, authentic Mexican! And I agree. Best real Mexican food in St. George. And also agree, don't be fooled by the location, colocated with a gas station. We go 1 to 2 times a week!
Different flavors than most of the similar restaurants around town. Although they share the same menu the food was way more flavorful and different.
Used to be good but since Covid the service has become horrible. I understand that things are different now, but service still matters, and those who use Covid as an excuse to talk down to their customers will soon lose those customers to businesses that find ways to treat the customer like they matter. We don't live in Cuba, China, or the former Soviet Union. Service and the individual still matter.
Jalapenos is one of the better tasting Mexican food here in St. George and I should know since moving here from the Los Angeles area, now all I wish is that they served liquor I'd order a Margarita. 😄
I was pleasantly suprised at how good this place was. I am now a regular here. I'd recommend the carne nachos!
The wait times are just way too long, but the food is great. You should try the veggie burrito
Fantastic breakfast options. Had to say my order twice, so being a pretentious person would get upset, but obviously not a huge deal. Red sauce is spicy but great flavor.
I love love love their food... But their customer service is horrible.... I was asking questions about something and the lady taking my order was flat out laughing..... You don't disrespect your costumers like that... Answer the question and move on. Just rude... If this is how they will treat their customers I'll just go to the other jalapeños.
Great great food like you used to love but can't find any more. If they had a beer garden; it would be a dream Update July 2017. WONDERFUL FOOD. My wife had fish tacos and I had #4 combo plate. Free chips and salsa. GREAT ! See new images. M.
I wish it wasn't so slow. But I have yet to find something there that doesn't taste great.
They don’t have the best customer service. Tonight we went through the drive-thru on the way home. It was a little slow, but that was not the problem. When we got home 20 minutes later we discovered we only got 1/2 our food. I called the store and asked if we could just come back another time. They said it was their fault but if I wanted the other items I had to come right now. We can’t go back right now so I guess we will never be going back. BTW don’t get shrimp from here. Most of their chicken and pork items are good.
I ordered the chicken enchiladas and wasn't too impressed with the food quality, and the time it took for a small order. I will say their refried beans are some of the best out of the multiple local Mexican restaurants I've eaten at and the place is conviently connected to a gas station.
Good food, loved the beans, rice, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas. Kids got a meal, fries were okay, cinnamon chips were awesome. Rolled Tacos were ok, wish they were a little crisper, it was a ton of tortilla. Overall everyone was pretty happy with the food.
Ordered the machaca breakfast burrito and it didn’t disappoint. Great ratio of cheese potatoes meat and eggs. The green sauce is tasty and the red sauce is tasty and spicy. Very good burrito.
Best breakfast burritos in town! My wife and I stop here if we’re going in trips or if we just want to have dinner but don’t want to cook. We always get our food in a timely manner, and they use fresh ingredients! love the atmosphere.
We love their breakfast burritos! Service can be slow, so plan extra time. Staff is a nice. We eat here every time we come to St. George.
I don’t usually edit my reviews but this time I had to. I used to order to go all the time. For the last five or six times now that I’ve come here the staff wasn’t the same and the food definitely was not the way it used to be. Now I find out it’s just OK and I’m usually really disappointed because this used to be a great place to eat. The kids meals were really nice, the burritos and guac was awesome. This used to be My absolute favorite Mexican food in town by far. Still a great value for what you get
Jalapenos is my favorite place to eat in Saint George. I lived in California for 18 years, so I know what good Mexican food is. This place is good. Prices are totally reasonable. It's co-located with a gas station, but walled off from the gas station and has seating inside, so you can dine-in.
This is a great spot to grab some tasty grub! The DSU burrito is a favorite (carne asada, polo asada, and chipotle sauce). Staff is friendly and the place is clean. I’ll continue to visit this place over and over again.
The closest thing I’ve come across (so far) to Southern California Mexican food, but will keep searching.
Authentic Mexican food, not Americanized. The food is great and fresh! The owner and his wife care about their customers. If you are a 'regular' they take an interest in your wellbeing.
